Purpose
An interactive historical case study that lets students reason through command decisions inspired by Admiral Spruance.
Overview
This reworks a historical case study into a structured, reflective conversation.
The aim is disciplined reasoning rather than casual role play, helping students work through command judgment, uncertainty, and strategic context.
What I built
It is a guided decision sequence tied to the major leadership and command choices, with reflection prompts that make students commit to their reasoning before the historical framing is revealed. The underlying architecture is reusable for other leadership case studies built on the same logic.
Learning design intent
The design treats history as a training environment for judgment rather than static content. Students have to sit with ambiguity, state their assumptions, and weigh tradeoffs, which makes for a stronger experience than passive reading because they are engaging the quality of the decision itself.
Current state
The project is active and serves as a core model for AI-supported historical leadership case studies.
